Our family purchased 80 acres of beautiful northern pine forest just south of Akeley in the spring of 2020 and got to work developing the land ourselves! Our goal is to provide a relaxing, natural forest setting for campers while preserving the wilderness as it is, clearing only what we need to in order to maintain a healthy forest and allow safe access for campers.
We want to get people excited about spending time outdoors by providing a scenic space for camping families and friends to enjoy. We also wish to respect nature and preserve it as it is-- keeping it quiet, clean and beautiful.
The forest is large and we will be adding more sites and accommodations every year as we develop them ourselves. However, we will keep all sites at least 50 feet apart and keep everyone surrounded by as much natural wilderness as possible.
We have been asked if we will be open late in the fall for deer hunting season. The short answer is: If mother nature allows us to be. Understand that if temperatures drop below freezing, water and the dump station will not be available. Also if we get a measurable amount of snow, we will be closing our gates and shutting down for the season. That being said, if the weather cooperates, we look forward to hosting those who need a place to park their rigs during the deer hunting season. Thanks for your understanding.
There are currently five sites available. Another six are nearing completion, and a multi-unit site is being developed for those who wish to have their friends or relatives share a larger site. By the end of next season, we hope to have an additional 3-4 sites available for accommodating a total of 18 units.
